An extra coronavirus testing centre is set to open in Preston city centre as local public health bosses continue to gain control of the city’s worrying rise in new infections.
The site will open at Preston Markets on Monday (August 24) as part of attempts to get more people tested – both those with symptoms and those without.
Preston has the third worst infection rate in Lancashire, with its current rolling seven day infection rate sits at 30.7 cases per 100,000 people, with 44 new cases in the week to August 17.
